Designations & Certifications

Monique is a certified Retirement Management Advisor® through Investments & Wealth Institute® where she also received an Applied Behavioral Finance Certificate. Monique earned the AIF® Designation in 2020- Attainment of the AIF® Designation demonstrates understanding of the Prudent Practices® and methodology. She is also a Certified Kingdom Advisor® through Kingdom Advisors, having also served as their Orange County Trustee. Monique is currently in programs at the Yale School of Management for Investment Management Theory & Practice. She has also completed courses in conflict resolution and mediation with Peace Makers Ministries.

Experience

Monique’s experience, having managed wealth for over 30+ years through bull & bear markets, is the kind which your heard earned wealth deserves. Her career path was shaped by her family heritage. In 1989 she began her career in the banking industry as a 3rd generation banker.

Throughout the ’90s she lead a successful career in investment banking, navigating multiple mergers and achieving the President’s Council numerous times while affiliated with WM Financial, Griffin Financial Services, Ahmanson & Co., and Coast Federal Services, Fimco Securities.

In 1999, she realized her vision of creating a niche financial planning firm of her own. Her company was tailored to meet the needs of individual families with estate complexities, while nurturing their legacy planning and philanthropic interests. In 2001, she founded Marshall & Associates Financial Services, Inc. to achieve these goals.

She continues to realize her vision for goals-based financial planning designed to support your life plan through Life By Design Investment Advisory Services.

Passions & Purpose

Monique is a native SoCal resident and finds a lot of the inspiration for her work while aspiring to be a multi-pitch rock climber or leading backpacking retreats in the Sierras. And her passion for the arts & music are held close to her heart. She served as Orange County Trustee & Board Member for Olive Crest - Strong Families, Safe Kids and continues to actively support their mission.

Her life plan is a testimony to her teachings that your work is not your identity, it’s how you choose to live and give to this life. You can find her and her husband paddle-boarding the harbors or completing goals like reaching out to children in need in Peru (while teaching them how to surf!).
